Discover the beauty found in more than twenty stunning watercolors on exhibit at the QArts Gallery, May 5 - June 19. Marco describes his painting this way… “my watercolors navigate a wide range of subjects and are nourished by natural beauty, the splendor of colors and shapes, dramatic contrast, and the inexhaustible scenery of natural views”. An architecture professor in his native Peru, Marco moved to America with his family in 2009. That was the beginning of his self-taught journey through his preferred medium of watercolor. You won’t want to miss the mastery of his work.
Marco believes, “that watercolor is the closest technique to the eternity of a moment, and that painting is the most formidable weapon to fight against the destruction of time that passes and passes without remedy. I think that through painting we honor all the wonders that exist in our habitat. I believe painting is the best weapon to fight against wars and injustice, as well as giving us back the dream of being a humanist, a sensitive species capable of loving, respecting, creating, and living in peace.
Art for Ukraine
During his one-man-show, Marco has donated five original watercolors as a silent auction fundraiser titled Art For Ukraine. 90% of the proceeds will go to the agency Red Cross Ukraine, for humanitarian aid, with 10% to the artist to cover the cost of framing for these pieces. All will have a minimum opening bid of $650.00. The highest bidder will be notified following the end of the exhibit.
