Service Description

This class will help you draw in a structured, planned, and more accurate way. A series of brief talks and demonstrations will be provided to show how to start a drawing: what to do first, how to determine proportions and placement with great precision. This is immensely important to get your work to look right. You will progress from quick warm up exercises and move into more involved drawings. This is a drawing lab where your will be shown how to “sight size,” use triangulation to establish proportion and placement, and how to work with grids to help “find” where you are on the paper. Together we will creatively test our skill and try out proven approaches to drawing. When requested, teacher feedback, tips, and techniques will be offered. This will be a fun and encouraging course! At the end of the class you will see growth and improvement…I guarantee it! Seriously, we’ll look at your first work and see it alongside your latest…and you will surprise yourself. Supplies: Bring your favorite drawing tools: pencils, charcoal, pastels, paper, eraser etc. If you don’t have any of these we will help you get started with our extensive supply closet of materials.
