We will develop and explore a number of approaches to capturing a good likeness and expression. Exercises Study values—lights, mid tones, darks. Sight and proportional sizing. How to scale, Composition, and interesting ways to pose, arrange. Goals Go from sketch, to tonal treatment, to detail, to finished portrait. By the end of the series, you’ll have completed finished drawings of the subjects. Media Dry media only. Pencil, charcoal, pastel, pen. Novel approaches will be demonstrated.
