Service Description

Instruction: 1. How to paint still life. (2 weeks) 2 How to paint marine views using masking fluid and gum Arabic. (2 weeks) 3. How to create a spontaneous painting. (1 week) 4. How to do human figures in watercolor with idea of perspective. (1 week) 5. How to do sketches. (2 weeks) Description This watercolor course provides exercises that reinforce mastery of watercolor techniques. These exercises train and enhance artistic presentation quality. A variety of themes are selected to enable experimentation with different amounts of water. This allows for creating new textures, color palettes, and harmonies, and exploring color values, intensity, and gradation from light to shadow. All activities take place in a motivating, relaxing environment that encourages complete freedom of expression. The unique artistic vision of each painter is fully respected. Parking

  • Metered parking on the street

  • Paid parking in the President’s Parking Lot located on Saville Ave. From either direction, look for the National Park Visitors Center on the corner of Hancock St. & Saville Ave. to park. The QArts Gallery is directly across the street from the National Park Visitors Center and Quincy College.

  • Weekends: Free parking behind the QArts Gallery in the MBTA lot. From either direction look for Starbuck’s on the end of our block on Hancock St. At that traffic light turn into the MBTA entrance and parking lot. You will need to walk a short distance around to the gallery’s front entrance on Hancock Street.
